Jumpsuit Workshop -- With Alex

A Two-night sewing and pattern workshop to make custom jumpsuit/coveralls. The first night will include custom pattern making, basic sewing techniques, and initial work on your work wear. The second night will be a guided work night. Participates will work at their own speed and Alex will be available to answer questions or solve-problems with you.

No sewing experience required.

Cost: $45 + Material of your choosing

Material: Pick the fabric you want. You can use bedsheets from a thrift store, yardage from joann fabric (look up coupon), ect - but you’ll need to measure the width to see how much yardage you need: 

  • : 45” wide or similar - 5 yards

  • : 60” wide or similar - 4 yards)

  • 26” zipper or similar/ 36” velcro/ 3-10 desired buttons

  • Elastic band/ drawstring for waist if desired


When purchasing material, consider movement and comfort.

Supplies provided

  • Sewing Machines

  • Thread (white - Bring other color if desired)

  • Thread snips/junk scissors

  • Measuring tapes

  • Marking chalk/crayons

  • Pattern

  • Iron/ Ironing Board

  • Scissors

Instructor: Alex is a rising senior in the SEM department at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She designed this workshop as an extension of her practice and in conjunction with her Springboard Residency at Wondershop.
